BUGSVILLE |
Lead | |
|
I guess that Bugsville is going to be located next to the ampitheatre. They will probably use the little western show theatre for the Bugs show. Right now there are 13 rkiddie rides in the park. Nine behind the Triple Hurricane and four on the boardwalk. So unless they buy four new kids rides the rides on the boardwalk section will be moved, as the park says there will be 13 rides in Bugsville. If they move those rides on the boardwalk, they have space for more flats or a small coaster.

New rendering | ||

Just got a mailer from CG today. It has a rendering of Bugsville. I've scanned it and put it here:

okay | ||

I'm leaning toward flat rides because Kent made it clear that the rest of the coasters added to the park will be adult.

But there would probably room for a Volare flting coaster if he moves those kiddie rides into Bugsville. I must say though, Bugsville will definitly be one of the more highly themed areas of the park.

Train | ||
|
If you look close in the rendering you can see the train in the background. That should give you an idea where it'll be located.
Also, in the left of that photo is the play structure. You can see kids standing in it. Looks to be 3-stories. I think it'll be located where the tent used to be. (I think it's been taken down now.) |

Bugsville | ||

The area that Bugsville is sort of small. It will be interesting to see how the park will put 13 rides, a theatre and a play structure into that space. And what will happen to the hotdog food stand that sits in the area. Does it stay or does it move somewhere else? If so where? I know that they placed the stand there to sell during concerts. If it moves it will not be far.

Re: Bugsville | ||

coming soon two new rides for bugsville (bouncing bungie,and climbing wall)
|
|||
EddyBoy |
What? | ||
|
I don't think a climbing wall would be appropiate for a Kids Area. And the other one is called Black Beard's Bounce.

Bugsville rides | ||
|
Do you think that the kiddie rides that will be relocated to Bugsville will be renamed to insect names like at WA?
|

EddyBoy |
I hope | ||
|
I hope so, that way it will make sense. There hasn't been any news of a Black Beard's Bounce or a Climbing Wall in Bugsville so don't count your chickens before they hatch. Knowing that these aren't kiddie rides, they will probably go in the boardwalk

Aerial Photo! | ||

Well, I've found a good aerial photo(s) of the completed CG and "remade" my idea for Bugsville & the Starliner. Look under the December news.

Bugsville Construction | ||
|
If it were up to me I would close off the walkway between the ampitheatre and the yo-yo during construction. Access to the rides area would be threw the adventure arcade. That way the park could build during the park hours. The okeechobee rampage would be closed during construction. I dont know if you noticed but the staircase is alittle steep for that ride. I would replace it with a ramp like at the swampthing and add a roof. What do you think.

I contacted Lynn Wright, the PR person at CG and she sent me some photos. One is a very nice/high res version of the Bugsville rendering I scanned from a previous flyer. She also sent some images of the Wild Adventures Bugsville characters that will be walking around the new area.
I'm going to see if I can get a map of how Bugsville will fit into the park. I'd like to see an official design rather than just my own speculation! cypressgardens.homeip.net/Bugsville/ |

Rides moving | ||
|
If CG moves the pirate ship, stars & stripes, rocking tug and kids swings from the boardwalk to bugsville there will be nothing on that side of the sinkhole. They will have space for a small coaster, a boomerang over the sinkhole or a zamperla motobike coaster. Or they could add a couple of adult flats, like a scrambler, matterhorn, enterprise, revolution, or a zipper.

Re: Rides moving | ||

I'm hoping either a boomerang or a Scrambler and Frisbee will go there if they do move the rides. Imagine if they did move Wave Runner and Storm Surge to the Water Park, think of all the room they would have for a ride. If they do move those rides, it would make room for alot of big thrills rides or maybe even a coaster.

Bugsville Rides | ||
|
I was at the park yesterday and all the concrete slabs have been poured and some of the rides are being moved. As you walk into Bugsville after the fry cart there is one ride and on your left there are two more on the right. On the right are Supertrucks and Jalopy Junction. Just past where the tent used to be on the right there are two more ride spots. One will be the Firebrigade and the other is a mystery. As you cross the railroad tracks there is one on the right between the railroad station and Delta Kite Flyers. On the other side infront of the Storm surge is where the Rio Grande train is going. Between the Stormsurge station and the resturaunt is where the junior ramp masters boat ride will go.

Bugsville opens in May according to the flyer I just recieved. The themeing for the area will probably start ariving fairly soon. Hopefully it will be pretty good.

Aren't you on the mailing list?
BTW, if you want a preview of the actual theming (and not the rendering) look at this photo. |

Nope, never got any mail from CG. I hope CG's Bugsville looks more like the rendering, it's more pretty than Wild Adventures.
