Costers | ||
|
There are two Fun Spots and it is possible that they are both getting coasters. The one off of I-drive has little room so they might get a spinning coaster. The one next two Old Town has cleared alot of land so they are either adding something big, like a wooden coaster, or alot of little things. As for Cypress Gardens after the Starliner is built, originally when I worked there they talked about adding an inverted boomerang. SLC cars on a boomerang track.

Thanks BIGEZ, I've never ridden a boomerang before so I hope it will be a good experience. Alos since Florida doesn't have a boomerang I guess it's another good addition to the park.

Also. I'm not sure if this is confirmed or not, but I think sometime in the future Cypress Gardens will add a Screaming Swing to it's collectiong of rides. In a few forums they mention opening a ride called The Gauntlet which is the name of the Screaming Swing at Wild Adventures. I hope they do get a Screaming Swing because I really want to ride one.

BIG EZ, I think the land cleared behind Old Town is for the new Unicoaster that has been in the works for a while. It should be interesting to see how it turns out to say the least.

What the heck is a Unicoaster? Never heard of it. The land they are clearing is huge. Would a Unicoaster be that big?

Hey BigEz, can you answer my question about the Screaming Swing at Cypress Gardens? Some other sites that they will add one but maybe you can help me confirm it too.

Screaming swing | ||

A year ago the park talked about adding one that would swing over the water in the boardwalk area. That was before they bought the Starliner from Panama City. So they spent that money.

But is it possible for them to add one in 08? I like Screaming Swings so if Cypress Gardens bought one, that would be awesome.

What's a Unicoaster?
www.unicoaster.com/ It looks to be like a poor man's version of "X" at Magic Mountain. However, after having been fortunate enough to experience X in the summer of 2005 (it breaks down a lot) I think that even a scaled down version of a 4D coaster would be a HUGE win for Florida (and Old Town). |

The Unicoaster seemed cool at first, but I rode the "demo" of it and there's a few things that bugged me about it.
1. It's disconcerting sitting on the side of the track like that. It'd be better if there were seats on the other side to balance it out. 2. The coaster slows down quite a bit. Mostly it's when the seats flip over. 3. The seats flip over. Ugh. Just watching that on my computer was enough to make me feel sick! Anyway, it'd be a neat "first" and would probably draw some coaster maniacs, but it isn't my cup of tea. |

does anyone know or heard if they will put the tunnel back in place,and will it be improved or just rebuilt to orginal spec's

Right now only the train is being replaced. I think they should leave the tunnel as it is with it being over the small hill that suprises many people. Ig they were to change the Starliner in any way I would like them to make the first drop 5ft-10ft higher and at a slightly steeper angle. Also it would be nice if they make the bunny hops after the turn around 10ft-15ft taller than they are now and add one extra bunny hop at the end. But I doubt they'll do that, it's just something I would like to see so the Starliner would be more thrilling than it used to be.

Was at the park tonight. No visible progress on Bugsville or the Starliner. Although I did find one interesting thing.
Note the flowers in my 6th image. The red ones look like they're still in plastic containers, but the white ones? Maybe they've been planted under that tree? Why plant them if guests won't see them? Also, there's a big image of the Starliner on the fence. It clearly shows the tunnel. So why paint the tunnel if it's not going to be in the fin |

CG is really taking their time on building this thing.

The park will probably not begin to build BUGSVILLE and the Starliner until the Christmas season is over. I would'nt be surprised if there was no building until the middle of Feburary.

After thinking about this, I think Cypress Gardens could have installed something much better that Starliner with 5 Million Dollars. I mean the Ozark Wildcat at Celebration City only cost 4 million and it is much better than the Starliner. But of course, Starliner is a treasure as Florida's first major rollercoaster. But I think a Twister coaster like the Kentucky Rumbler:www.rcdb.com/ig2967.htm?picture=58 , the Ozark Wildcat:www.rcdb.com/ig1888.htm?picture=3 , and the Thunderbird:www.rcdb.com/ig2955.htm?picture=7 would have made a much better investment for the park as the only wooden roller coaster in Central Florida.

NEW COASTER | ||

When they originally started on the park they should have never built the Triple hurricane. I would of built a GCI twister coaster named the Cypress Cyclone in the sink hole area of the park. All the flat rides would be in the area where the Triple hurricane now stands. The one thing that is better about the Starliner is that it is an ACE classic coaster. I look foward to riding it.

I hope that the park builds the park right. The circular station, the tunnel, the white paint job, and chase lightning all the way down the track. If they do it will be a thing of beauty right in front of the park. To bad that they are building a strip mall in front of the park to block the view from Cypress gardens Blvd.

I do the same, but here are my plans if I managed the park. I would remove all the rides along the boardwalk for the GCI Twister including Power Surge and Swampthing. Scrap Triple Hurricane and put Disco, Inverter, Power Surge, Pharoah's Fury and the Bumper Cars in it's place. Put Storm Surge in Splash Island and put Mega Bounce, Galaxy Spin, Scooters, Tilt-A-Whirl, and Thunderbolt in it's place. Put Wave Runner in Splash Island and put the Carousel and Sky Wheel in it's place. Keep Bugsville and Starliner where they are, but add all the boardwalk kiddies including the Fun Slide to Bugsville. Swampthing should be scrapped for a Zamperla Volare and will be placed between Splash Island and the Road(also the area where the Starliner Parts are currently located). The Railroad will stay the same, but will now circle the GCI Twister with the same stations, but a new one will be located near the Arcade. The original pathway to Splash Island will remain the same, but will extend to the Zamperla Volare. The original "Welcome to Cypress Gardens" sign will be located next to the Adventure Grove sign. I know I went above and beyond with my post, but that is how I would build the rides area.
