Amen, and not only that, even if they don't add a diving machine or a hypercoaster, they will still attract the locals and other people who come by. Also with the addition of the mall in front of the park, that might help with attendance and money problems. I love Cypress Gardens and if it was a lady, I'd marry her. IMO ThemeParkReview is a D#CK!

Coaster & BUGSVILLE | ||
|
I think that they can leave some of the kiddie rides where they are, move some to the open field behind the Triple Hurricane, and have the entrance of BUGSVILLE underneath the TRiple Hurricane near it's exit.

Hey Greg! Do you think Kent will use the field next to the parking lot for rides? cypressgardens.homeip.net...20Way2.JPG Because if they do, then they can easily fit big coasters like this. p2.rcdb.com/picmax/parc-a...durix9.jpg and p2.rcdb.com/picmax/six-fl...-ride8.jpg

Lake area | ||

"Hey Greg! Do you think Kent will use the field next to the parking lot for rides?"
I don't think so. It's kind of off the beaten trail. Plus, being right next to the lake they'd have to worry about erosion. |

Re: Lake area | ||

If they put a strong wall, then that would stop most of the erosion. Also, I think it would be a good place because it's like extending Nature's Way. And it's the only place for additional rides and coasters. Lakes don't give much erosion just to let you know.

construction | ||
|
When construction starts it will also have an effect on the Citrus Line Railroad. It will have to be closed. It will be cool when it's opened again and runs under the Starliner. Also the Starliner and Triple Hurricane will be next together running in opposite dirrections at the same time.

The train | ||

I wonder what the path of the train will be? My mock-up image has it going under the Hurricane and Starliner. I know it probably won't take this path, but I couldn't think of another way to do it.

Haven't been there in a few months. But I expect I'll be going regularly now to take photos of the construction! Between the Starliner, kiddie area, (something in the gameroom), and the new shopping area out front, there'll probably be a lot of new photos from me!

I was at the park yesterday. The Starliner train car is sitting in the entrance area of the park. Behind the Triple Hurricane they are cutting up the sod and removing it for construction. There are nine kiddie rides behind the Triple Hurricane, but BUGSVILLE is going to have 13 rides. THat is four rides short. Are they going to be new kiddie rides or are they moving the ones on the boardwalk area. If they move the Rockin Tug, Stars-n-Stripes, Pirate boat and Kiddie swings that will leave more room on the boardwalk for Biggie rides. Scrambler, Flying Bobs, and Frisbee.

Awesome | ||

That's awesome if Kent does move the Kiddie rides for more room. I think Kent knows how he's going to fit the attractions. But I think the Black Beard's Bounce and Climbing wall will go there.

Greg, I'm assuming you went to Cypress GArdens today to take some photos? Because I haven't heard you for a while.

Yes | ||

I went tonight. It was really too dark to see any construction, if there was any. I didn't see any heavy machinery out in the field... I did see some of the sod being ripped up behind the Triple Hurricane, but that was about it...
Oh, and they had the Starliner car sitting out near the entrance! cypressgardens.homeip.net/ |

Starliner | ||
|
I went to an ACE meeting yesterday and the president Mark Cole, who is a resident of Winter Haven, said that the train car is the original 30 year old car of the Starliner. The park is having a new PTC train made, the one out front is just for show. He said that when the Starliner is completed that the park is going to auction of the old car. Any takers?? The new car will be identical to the old one.

Thank you Greg for the pictures and Big EZ for the info. And if I'm not mistaken, once the Starliner is built Cypress Gardens will be the only park in Florida to have 2 woodies, right?

another coaster | ||
|
At the ACE meeting they mentioned that "another" wooden coaster will be built somewhere in central Florida. That location is "top secret" right now but will be reveiled in late this month or early December. I am thinking SeaWorld. Also the Funspot next to Old Town is considering buying a spinning coaster.

Get Out | ||
|
Now way! I hope SeaWorld does get it though becasue they need a new ride badly. And I've been to FunSpot before and it's an awesome Amusement Park, but needed a roller coaster so I'll be happy if they get this one. Now that I'm thinking about it, what do you think Kent will add next after Starliner and Bugsville? A steel adult coaster, new thrill rides, a new water ride?

Fun Spot near Old Town | ||

I drove by the Fun Spot next to Old Town, where the large Sky Coaster is. They have cleared a large area, big enough for a wooden coaster. Could this be the location of the second wooden coaster.

? | ||

I thought you said that FunSpot is getting a Spinning Coaster. Wait, is it possible they're getting a spinning coaster and a woodie? Did ACE mention anything for Cypress Gardens? I want to know if Kent will decide to add a Eurofighter or an SLC. Either way Florida doesn't have either of them so it would be good to add either one.
