Re: Lumber? | ||

It probably is the Starliner because there hasn't been any other wooden coasters that I know of under construction in Florida. What color are they? The supports for the Starliner are Red and White.

The wood is not painted or stained yet, but that does not mean much.

Big Anoucement | ||
|
I just heard an add on the radio saying that the park will have a BIG anouncement November 9th. Kent Buescher said it was one that everyone has been waiting for. STARLINER?
|
|||
EddyBoy |
Cool! | ||
|
I can't wait till then! I doubt this will be about Starliner since there's been an announcement on it already. Maybe they'll be having news of another ride/coaster.

Or it could be an announcement that they are closing, but that's unlikely IMO.

Anouncement | ||
|
I doubt the anouncement is about closing since it was mentioned in an add for 2007 season tickets. Kent Buescher was in the radio add on the Max.He said that it was news that people were waiting for and he was eager to tell.

Hey Big EZ. What do you think they'll be announcing?

ANOUNCEMENT | ||
|
It's one of two things or both.
1. Starliner construction. Time and date. 2. Financial problems are solved. Got more $$ either from another investor or they won the court battle with the insurance company. 3. BOTH It was mentioned in a radio add for 2007 season tickets. So it's something positive. |

Coaster Trains | ||
|
There is a Hopkins Amusement warehouse on RT.27 just south of HainesCity. Now there is lumber stacked outside and a ROLLERCOASTER TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is black and a three bench car. Cool. Has to be for Cypress Gardens.

So the Starliner will have new trains. That's good since the old ones had M.S.A.P on them.

What I like to hear. | ||

Hear is what I like to hear. That the park has solved there financial problems and that construction of the Starliner will start the first of the year. With the opening before May 2007. And that they added some stinkin new game to there arcade.

NEW FOR 2007 | ||
|
The park has anounced that the Starliner rollercoaster will open this summer. They also said that a new area will open in the park, BUGSVILLE. It will have the kiddie rides moved from the Starliner construction area along with a new show and a large kids play structure. COOL!

Starliner in CG photo | ||

Did you see this rendition of how the Starliner will go into CG? Look at the photo from the press release: cypressgardens.com/press.asp
Looks a lot my idea for how it will go: cypressgardens.homeip.net...rides3.jpg |

Awesome | ||

I'm happy that you guessed right Greg and I'm happy that Cypress Gardens is off the beaten track. All they need is a good sized steel looping coaster and they will be a better than what ThemeParkReview thinks of it. Greg, I saw what happened with your battle against ThemeParkReview, and all I have to say is that they are such @#^%&%@#%$@$%#@#$%(*^!@%$^%! I suggest that we stay on a different forum like this one, instead of ThemeParkReview. I wish Cypress Gardens the best sucess and I hope they can go far.

^^ Yeah, it's funny how when you politely disagree (IMO, that's what I did) with the admins POV you're suddenly a d*ck, but the guys who bash the park and me are perfectly okay to do it.
Hey, I *AM* realistic about the park. It's a tough road for them being between the mouse and the Busch. But if the numbers for the past two years are any indication, they'll be fine. CG will never be a big draw for the 18-30 crowd, even if they did spend $10 million on some new coaster. I don't think they could recoup the investment for something like that. The market they are targeting are the local people (within 50-100 miles) who have kids in the 2-12 range. And it's the same group of people who don't want to spend $300 for a day trip to Disney World! I know I don't want to battle the Disney roads, crowds, and ridiculous prices. In fact, I haven't paid to go to Disney since I was in High School almost 20 years ago! (I worked there, got in free, and knew people who could get me in free though.) For what you get, I think Disney is a rip off. Why buy the expensive gasoline when the cheaper stuff is right down the road and does basically the same thing? |
