Starliner & Park News |
Lead | |
|
I was at the park today with my daughter for the Ally & AJ concert. The park attendance was good, the parking lot was full. All rides were operational. There will be no Starliner at the park, at least in the near future. There is a new Sign, "Welcome to Bugsville" at the entrance of Kids area behind the Triple Hurricane. I was told by numerous park sources that there will be no coaster next year, but Wild Adventures is getting something big next year. Maybe the coaster is going there, or something else. The Disco is working, Phobia construction has started and the Adventure Arcade carnival games may be moved to another area eventualy. Soda vending machines have been raised to $2.50 a bottle.

I talked to someone alittle bit higher than the SSA operator. There will be no Starliner in 07.

the starliner is badly needed at the park. while i really like the park,a true full size coaster is needed. the lack of a "adult" coaster is what keeps me from visiting more often. i really hope it goes up soon, if it does, i am totally hooked on the park

Untill the park gets some cash, you will have to wait a while. Last time I was at the park the Triple Hurricane and GalaxySpin was closed for the day.

Same thing happened to me, but the Thunderbolt was closed too. Are they inspecting those three rides or something?

I talked some management I know today and was told the wooden beams are being treated for termites. They said that they plan to start construction next year now that the park has secured a loan. Hopefully construction wil be quick.

Well, IMO putting Starliner together should be fairly easy and at this rate I would expect an opening in November or December of 2007 and/or January, Feburary, March, or April of 2008. I hope they can open as soon as they can, I'm moving to San Francisco in 2008 so I want a chance to ride this historic coaster.

Wouldn't it be great if construction began in December of this year? Now that I think about it, the Starliner should only take 3-6 months to construct considering that it has been already built to construction shouldn't be that long.

I found a site with a news quote stating that a major steel roller coaster will be up in 2007!This article was old, so it will probably built and ready by 08'. ALso Splash Island is adding some kiddie slides and a "Tiki Garden". Not only that I found a picture showing where Starliner might be located.
Here is the article. The lower right part of the article states the new adult steel coaster to be built. cypressgardens.homeip.net...paper7.jpg The Splash Island Map Showing Tonga Slides and Tiki Gardens. cypressgardens.homeip.net...ealmap.jpg And a possible Starliner location. cypressgardens.homeip.net...rides3.jpg By 2008 the biggest renditions to the park will be opened! Hopefully the new steel coaster will bring more teenagers to the park. If that doesn't bring them then I have more news. I beleive Kent wants to make the rides similar to Wild Adventures. So He is going to add 4 more roller coasters. Starliner and 3 looping coasters, one of them is a boomerang, the other is the one I stated about earlier. And not only that, he also plans on building 7-12 Thrill Rides to add to the park which would make a total of 50-55 rides and attractions in the park. All of those renditions IMO, will make this park better than it ever was before and probably a big boost in attendance. Even with the Bankruptcy I think Kent will be able to get enough money to pay for everything in the end because of the 16% rise in attendance, the Starliner, and other events. All we need to do, is to help them by visiting the park every once in a while. |

That isn't the right on. IMO, just read all the articles shown and look for the one stating the rollercoaster in the lower right hand side.

Starliner? | ||
|
Between HainesCity and Dundee on RT. 27 there is a Hopkins/ Msrtin & Velemik Amusement Ride company warehouse. Right accross from the large Peterbuilt sign. This is the company that built the Triple Hurricane. Well a few days ago giant piles of timber began to show up at that warehouse. Could this be the Starliner parts or maybe another coaster for central Florida. If your in the area check it out.

When you say piles of Timber do you mean tracks or shredded peices of wood?

Lumber? | ||

I mean the wooden supports for a coaster. The wood is stacked and numbered.
